For people of the world, the new year brings reassurance of a new beginning, and hope for the much-desired new life. The reassurance however, is temporary and fleeting. Always beginning and yet never able to completely come to fruition. Always discovering and yet never able to find life’s meaning.

May this year be unlike all previous years, for if done with a sincere desire to turn around from your old life, the new life that you resolve to have must lead to a promise of obedience that you commit to God.

When you enter into a covenant of obedience with God, He anoints you with the spirit of Christ. The spirit in turn bestows wisdom to discern and to carry out God’s purpose for you so that finally, you can put an end to your previously never-ending new beginnings.
